International “Ark” Project aimed at reducing casualties from expected natural disasters launched
The active preparation phase of the International "Ark" Project started in January 2010, almost simultaneously with the beginning of the campaign to join scientists from around the world to the communiqué on global changes of the geological environment prepared by the International Committee GEOCHANGE on global geological and environmental change. Within this Project, a new, very unusual social network ArkNow.net has been created to prepare the world's population for self-rescue and survival under the increasing scale of natural disasters. ArkNow.net is not a classic social network as it is usually understood - it is a special international multilingual community of those who realize that something wrong is happening on our planet and want to know more about it by getting objective
ArkNow.net is a social network created by professionals for common people; throughout its activity, well-known scientists and experts will be coordinating its operation and actively communicating with its members. One of the most important sections of ArkNow.net is a training block which provides people with guidelines on how to act in any emergency during various natural disasters: earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, floods, fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc.
The Charter of the ArkNow.net international community says: We have teamed up as an international community in order to:
-Be informed of all natural disasters occurring in the world;
ArkNow.net community takes a special pride in the "Services" section which includes three subsections: Maps; ArkVideo; Education. The "Maps" subsection also consists of two parts: Events and Forecasts. In the Events section, ArkNow.net members can get information about weather, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and forest fires on interactive maps as well as scientists' comments and detailed information on the most important events at the time of viewing. In the Forecasts section, ArkNow.net members can get forecasts for earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes and magnetic storms on interactive maps as well as scientists' comments and detailed information on the most important events.
"Disasters Encyclopedia" contains important information about any natural disaster of interest. In the ArkNow.net "Library" books, brochures, papers dedicated to natural disasters and other aspects of natural science can be found and downloaded. One of the most extensive and fascinating sections of the network - ArkVideo
In the "ArkVideo" section, members select a video according to their topic of interest. Here, the most interesting and unique video recordings of various natural disasters represented, sorted as follows: Earth, atmosphere, water medium, sun, space, interview and comments, films, etc.
Projects of ArkNow.net on the stage of implementation in the near future: "I see online" This block of the "SERVICES" section, which is currently under construction and development is a unique project launched by the ArkNow.net social network. This block consists of two major subsections: "We are watching the sky" and "Video from a disaster area". The technical preparation of both sections has been successfully tested and the first section has already started to operate. "We are watching the sky" Project
How can the average person learn about the large-scale danger coming from the Sun? The point is that powerful solar flares will cause atmospheric glow and low-frequency sounds across vast areas of our planet. The synchronization of these processes over large areas will be indicative of a serious Sun-generated risk to humans. ArkNow.net video cameras are currently being installed within the "We are watching the sky" project in various countries and average people who have heard unusual noises or seen glow in the sky will be able to independently carry out monitoring of the light effects and sounds coming from the sky in different countries at any given moment of time. Besides, on hearing unusual sounds from the sky and lighting effects in the atmosphere, they will be able to compare them with the videos available in the ArkVideo "Noises" section. ArkNow.net members can participate in this international project and connect their web cameras to the online video system. "Video from a disaster area" Project
