Has been confirmed the next forecast of the Global Network of Forecasting the Earthquakes GNFEOn 4 April 2010 GNFE placed in its official website the short-term forecast of the strong earthquake in the South part of Sumatra Island of Indonesia in the period from 04.04.2010 to 12.04.2010 with the following parameters:
Probability: 90%
The forecast was realized on basis of registration of intensive precursors of earthquakes by means of the station of forcasting the earhquakes ATROPATENA-ID which has been placed in the Special Province Yogyakarta of Indonesia. The forecast was given to regional representative of GNFE in Indonesia and coordinator of GNFE in the government of the Province Yogyakarta of Indonesia. As it is known, on 6 April 2010 in the south part of Sumatra Island occurred the earthquake with the magnitude 7.8. In accordance with the forecast of GNFE there is expected two more tremors in the south part of Sumatra Island with the magnitude exceeding 5.0 and the next strong earthquake at the shores of the Java Island with the magnitude exceeding 5.5. from 07 till 15 April 2010. In this period there are expected strong earthquakes in Japan with the magnitude of more than 5.5.; in Greece - with the magnitude of 4.5.-5; in Turkey - with the magnitude 5.0-5.5. In the forecasts there are given the coordinates of central points of the area of epicenter, the radius of the area of the epicenter, the quantity of tremors and the probability of the forecast - 90%. To the embassies of the series of countries of GNFE were sent the warnings about strong earthquakes in the period of 07-15 April 2010.
