EU Project

SCIENTIFIC  PROJECT  OF  EU

"BlackSeaHazNet"

Has started at 2010  the International Project of the European Union on issues of   forecasting of earthquakes.

Research issue: Balkan, Black Sea, Caucasus, Caspian NETWORK for Complex Research of Earthquake's Forecasting Possibilities, Seismicity and Climate Change Correlations.

The purpose of project BlackSeaHazNet is development of long-term research cooperation through coordinated joint program of researcher's exchange. The experimental and theoretical partnership will be directed to create a base of Complex Program for research the possibilities for forecast earthquake's time, place (epicentre, depth), magnitude and intensity using reliable precursors. Precursors list includes geophysical and seismological monitoring of region, monitoring of water sources and their Radon, Helium, and ather gases concentrations, crust temperature, monitoring of electromagnetic field under, on, and above Earth surface, meteorological monitoring, including earthquake clouds, electrical charge distributions and ionosphere variations, near space monitoring, aimed to estimate Earth or Sun and Space (Cosmic Rays) origins of variations, and biological precursors.

For many variables well working global and regional monitoring exists (for example INTERMAGNET monitoring). For others (for example: monitoring of Earth currents distribution) monitoring have to be created.

Due to complex real time variables monitoring the parallel output of the Program will be different time scale estimations for other natural hazards and risk assessment, as well as the correlations between human behaviour and electromagnetic and other geophysical variables variations.
